Mail a Monkey

The Mail a Monkey™ Story

Like most ideas, the Mail a Monkey™ concept was started in a basement, while drinking wine and watching So You Think You Can Dance...

The Short Version

Eric marries a cool chick named Erin.  They decide they want to live the American dream and start a business.  What will they sell?  Eric is thrifty (Erin calls it cheap).  Eric doesn't like to buy flowers for Erin because "they are expensive and they die."  Eric and Erin, like everyone else, love monkeys.

"We could mail monkeys - they don't die and are cheaper than flowers!"

Presto, monkeys and other cool gifts that show up in your mailbox in a clear tube made from recycled plastic.  People are happy!

The Full Story

Erin and Eric Peacock were watching television in their Denver basement when yet another terrible TV commercial came on. They started chatting about how it costs the same amount of money and effort to produce a good ad, as it does a bad one. They flashed back to the previous year's Superbowl and how much companies pay to produce non-creative, unfunny junk. They reminisced about the "good ol' days" when the Superbowl was packed with can't miss ads featuring monkey hijinx and how there was a lack of them in recent years. At the same time, they both said, "everybody loves monkeys!"

Eric told his wife Erin how as a kid he had begged and begged his parents for a pet monkey. For a while they humored him with maybes until they found out he was so serious that he had checked out every library book on monkeys. They had to break the bad news to him that it just wasn't going to happen. His parents told him that not only were they probably illegal to have in the city, but where the heck would they get one. Eric had done his homework and had seen an old ad (below) during some of his research and excitedly showed it to his parents - the answer was still no. [sniff sniff]

They continued chatting about the weird things that people do to make money. One of them blurted out, "I bet we could mail monkeys and people would buy them." They laughed and began discussing all of the crazy mail order things that are available and how much they cost. You can't mail someone a small bouquet of flowers or a box of sweets for under $40 once you pay for shipping and those gifts don't last.

The light bulb went off above both their heads! By the end of the show, the concept of mailing monkeys and other unique gifts in a transparent package was hatched - no more cliche flowers or boxes of chocolates were gonna be sent from the Peacocks! Now what?

They went on a hunt for unique monkeys and gifts made from cool materials. They wanted products that would be more than just a present in a tube, something that wouldn't wilt and fade, but rather create a lasting impression and memory for all ages on all occasions. First they found tubes made from recycled materials and that set them on a deeper mission of finding gifts that were safe and eco-friendly. They found what they were looking for!

After nearly a year of research, design and development, their dream of mailing monkeys and other truly unique gifts came true. Now you can mail someone a monkey and make them happy too. Start a snowball of joy and Mail a Monkey™ today!
